Ram Gopal Varma says his next film is a biography

Ram Gopal Varma hs said that his next movie titled Rakta Charitra would be a biography. He has just completed shooting Agyaat, his India 24/7 (earlier titled Rann) is already underway.

Saying about Rakta Charitra, Ram Gopal Verma said, “the name of the film I am intending to make as my next after India 24/7. It’s inspired by the story of Paritala Ravi from Andhra Pradesh who got assassinated in January 2005.”

Paritala Ravi was arguably the most feared individual ever in the history of the blood-ridden faction politics of South India.

“He was a prime accused in innumerable murder cases and also survived numerous assassination attempts, the most brutal of which happened on a quiet Friday afternoon in November 1997 when a road near Rama Naidu Studio in Hyderabad was turned into a death field by a bomb which killed 26 people but failed to get its intended target Ravi,” said Verma.

Abhishek Bachchan and Urmila Matondkar to gyrate to ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’

Abhishek Bachchan has done several guest appearances in films like Lage Raho Munnabhai, Hum Tum, Salaam Namaste etc and now he will be seen doing another special appearance in Ram Gopal Varma’s controversial Sholay . Abhi is slated to do a song and dance cameo in the famous ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’ number along with Urmila Matondkar. The two will be seen together for the first time together on-screen. Amitabh Bachchan who plays ‘Gabbar Singh’ in the film will also be a part of the song.In the original song, Helen was seen gyrating along with Jalal Agha while Amjad Khan watched the proceedings. Varma’s film is currently facing a lot of flak from the industry and the original producers of the film; the Sippy’s who hold the copyrights to the film have even filed a legal case against him in court. Even the ‘Mehbooba’ song was supposed to be re-composed by Himesh who later opted out of doing the song. Now the song will be sung by Sunidhi Chauhan and Sukhvinder Singh and Ganesh Hegde will choreograph it. Varma confirms that Abhi will be part of the song saying “it is true that Abhishek will be doing the song and will feature along with Amitji and Urmila. I never offered him the song; he loved it as soon as he heard it. He was excited to be part of the song and himself offered to be part of it.”Although the song will feature the father-son duo of Amitabh-Abhishek once more, what makes it a bit different from their earlier performances together is that this time there may not be a one on one interaction between the two of them. The location where the song will be shot has not yet been finalized but there are rumours that Varma may opt for shooting the song in Morocco. The song was made famous by the deep baritone of the male singer’s voice crooning ‘Mehbooba Mehbooba’ as well as Helen’s sultry dance moves. Whether Abhishek and Urmila manage to live up to the expectations of the audiences remains to be seen. Varma’s Sholay also stars Mohit Ahlawat, Nisha Kothari and Sushmita Sen.Urmila Matondkar has already proved herself as a good actress, now the Maharashtrian gal will also try her hand at singing. Urmila will be singing alongside one of the best voices in the country Asha Bhosle for Asha’s private album ‘Asha and Friends’. Sanjay Dutt and other celebrities too will be heard singing alongside Asha in her album.

Himesh-Asha out, Ganesh-Sunidhi in for Sholay

Some more casting has been put to place for Ram Gopal Varma’s Sholay. Choreographer turned singer Ganesh Hedge will compose and choreograph the song Mehbooba Mehbooba for the film. Earlier Himesh
was to compose the same track and like his numerous music video appearances, was also set to make
an appearance in the item song playing the role of Jalal Agha. However things seem to have changed now with RGV roping in Ganesh Hegde. Varma wanted Himesh to
do the film but the music director is quite busy with his international shows. Meanwhile Ganesh
Hegde composed his version of the song adding old elements and incorporating new portions to it
too, which Varma liked. Ganesh and RGV are now planning to shoot the song in five to six
different parts of the world. Ganesh Hegde had earlier choreographed songs like Khallas and
Kambakth Ishq for Ramu.
Meanwhile, Asha Bhosle, who was originally supposed to sing the song, has been replaced by
Sunidhi Chauhan now. Interestingly both the singers were unaware about the other’s involvement
with the song. Sukhwinder Singh is Sunidhi’s male counterpart.

Shreyas Rejects Ramu´s ´Sholay´

Two film old , talented actor Shreyas Talpade ('Iqbal' & 'Dor') has rejected a role in Ramgopal Varma's 'Sholay' . According to the buzz , Ramu offered Shreyas the role essayed by Sachin in the original Sippy
classic . But when Talpade asked for a script narration Ramu refused and as a result Shreyas
refused the role !
